The duties of the Gainesville Cultural Affairs Board shall be to advise the City Commission in regard to interest in and promotion of the arts and eco-heritage tourism, to develop local cultural resources and to assist the Cultural Affairs Manager in the planning and implementation of community cultural involvement.
Board Information
The Gainesville Cultural Affairs Board (CAB) is a 10-person board that serves as the advisory body to the City on cultural priorities and supports the implementation of its initiatives, and are a very diverse body currently made up of members from the arts sector, academic community and marketing field, as well as community facilitators for equity, diversity and inclusivity. CAB reviews the City’s Cultural Affairs programming schedule, providing feedback and suggestions to increase the effectiveness and reach of the proposed offerings, for larger projects conducts half day retreats to provide more in depth recommendations, and reviews and ranks the Outside Agency Grant applications.
